The novel is compelling and you won’t be able to stop until you unravel the mystery around an old farm house, where odd things happen.
On the other hand, if you’re a fan of Stephen King, you’ll feel like this is not enough. It’s not convincingly scary. Half way through, the story gets a little tangled up and you are left feeling like you’re running around in circles.
I might be harsh comparing it to King, but nowadays with such a strong reference, it’s really hard to write a book that will compete with those standards. Sometimes, I felt like the whole trama should have been cut a little bit shorter, as you may end up losing some enthusiasm. The last 100 pages, though, it’s when you might get hooked.
