Struggling to cope with the loss of his son, Billy is trying to find meaning in everything he does. He's been overweight for many years but after Micheal's suicide he starts to realise just how precious his life is. Deciding to lose weight to raise money for suicide begins to put a huge strain on his relationship with his family.
Ethel Rohan's writing style is one which draws you in and makes you feel all the emotions that are developing through-out the novel.
For Billy making the choice to be healthy is harder than you may think, especially when he feels as though he has no support. He a kind man who's mourning his Son. By using Marches, Documentaries and the sponsored weight loss, for billy it's giving Micheal life again, yet for the rest of the family it's making things more distressing.
This is a truly sensitive supportive novel which discusses not just the loss of a child but also the mental impact it leaves on those you love.
