After loving The Cruel Prince this year, I am ecstatic to read The Wicked King!! The first few chapters are already enticing, and enthralling and so twisty and cool!! I am once again ENCHANTED by the world, the faeries, and how elaborate and dark it is - which makes it even more enjoyable.
This is just 1000% my type of book. i LOVE fantasy. It's my favourite genre in this entire world. 2019 is going to be the year of fantastic sequels and this is just one of them. Cardan? My favourite character EVER. I could scream about TCP for eternity, it's just THAT GOOD. Same goes with the wicked king. I mean HOW CAN YOU NOT BE OBSESSED WITH JUDE AND CARDAN!? They're SO AMAZING and their romance is just everything?!? Like it owns my entire heart. I need this sequel on my bookshelf ASAP haha because this is just...SO GOOD. I love this series so much?? I need all the books in the series? I AM OBSESSED.
I'm soooooo glad to read about Jude again. She's a fantastic character, pfft, I mean words can't even describe her okay. Yeah, she's selfish and mean but she's also brave and smart and that's why I LOVE HER WITH MY ENTIRE BEING. She's so different from the typical YA character, that you can't help but be fascinated by her courage and trickery. She's cruel but yet still so awesome!
I seriously cannot get enough of reading about Cardan!!! GIMME ALL THE CARDAN CONTENT OKAY. He's so mysterious, calm and collected that I'm desperate to know what's happening underneath his facade. Once again, he's written fantastically - and adds to the sinister atmosphere of this world.
The stakes are even higher in the second book to this amazing series, and though only reading two chapters, I am already on the edge of my seat, in anticipation of the events about to unravel.
Jude and Cardan's dynamic will always be my favourite. Their twisted and fierce romance keeps me ALIVE. How they hate and love each other. AGH. Their relationship is so exciting and so full of tension and holding back emotions that I'm thoroughly obsessed.
As always, Black's writing is just perfect. She truly allows me to get inside the mind of Jude and see why she despises certain people but also loves some. The mood of the book is perfectly set, and I'm left waiting to see what will happen and how Black will weave this story together.
Also, can i just mention the cover? The crown sinking into an ocean? Ahhh this could mean so many things but only makes me more eager to continue reading!!! I NEED THIS BOOK. 2019 BE HERE ALREADY
