Following the events of the last book where the shocking betrayal took place, we see Jude fitting into her role as the Kings most trusted advisor clinging on to the power she desires very much while cardan does everything he can to undermine her for pushing the role onto him.
I liked seeing the characters develop more and seeing them interact more. We have seen plenty of them being enemies so I was hoping to see more of their interactions as lovers of at least maybe friends.
The plot was interesting enough to follow and some moments genuinely caught me off guard as I was not expecting jude to go that far but I was not disappointed that she did. Just when everything was going well for everyone the plot twist of a lifetime came to shock me out of my wits. I was so genuinely surprised and annoyed at Cardans actions towards the end of the book and im curious to see Jude's comeback
