The world is so well built that you cannot help but fall in love with it.
Again, Jude continued to be badass despite everything that is thrown at her.
The ending left me screaming at her for being so blind as to what had been said to her.
Holly Black has an incredible way with words and imagery, making the reader feel as though they have been sucked right into the book.
I liked seeing Cardan grow in this book, though he masks it well with his usual offhandedness and arrogance.
There were so many unseen twists and turns in this book which left me as a reader constantly trying to guess what was about to happen next.
The characters also continued to change and evolve into the roles that were required of them while still staying true to themselves and who we fell in love with in the first book.
All in all, I couldn’t wait to read the final book after this instalment.
