The wicked king by Holly Black, what can I say, Black exceeds my expectations constantly. The second book of her folk of Air series is exceptional. It was engaging and Black's writing style is fast paced. As always the characters are one of the reasons I loved this book. Cardan was as always the stubborn, blunt fae male, I just love his character he's so unbothered and apathetic it's humorous. I can't discuss character's without including my favourite, Jude is so cunning and plotting. Politics is really where she belongs, this book made me love the inner workings of politics. The second books includes so much political tricks and I love it.
I enjoyed reading the wicked king, because I normally delay when I read books because-procrastination✨, but I completed the second book as quickly as I did the first, I stand by Holly Black never writing a bad book. The plot allowed me to empathise and relate despite me, obviously not being a fae. I loved it so please read if your interested in political plots, mixed with faerie magic and a fantasy world so unique and imaginative it caresses your mind and allows a great reading experience.
