The second book in the series I usually say is worse than the first, but the Wicked King had a very adventurous and stunning story I found myself hanging off of her every word. The characters, Jude particularly, were interesting and I loved the different relationships with her as the main character. It's a classic enemies to lovers tale, and I mean enemies. From the first book, Jude and Cardan were at odds and I found myself engrossed in their forming relationship. Their relationship in this book appears toxic, so be wary of that, and other characters such as Jude's sister appear boorish and annoying. Definitely recommend the book to anyone who loves fantasy and enemies to lovers plots, and if you are wary about reading the second book after Cruel Prince then please dive right into this sequel! It's an easy read and one that will sit with you afterwards.
