I personally loved the first book of this series but i know many did not and prefer this book (the second) and i must admit i did adore the first book (the cruel prince) but this book did not fail to raise my standards even more the character developments are insane and the writers technique to create such an advanced world in so much in-depth detail shocks me every single time i think about it like whattt!!
Holly black is such a talented reader and definitely one of my favourites her books never fail to impress me and this series just blew my mind as the first book i read of hers was back in 2016 called doll bones and here i am 5 years later witnessing her writing glow up and i am not a slight bit disappointed.
I advise you 100% give this series a try even if you somehow do find the first book boring get to the last 2 books and your opinion will instantly change
