the wicked king is filled with romantic tension, a magical world and fabulous characters. there is a massive plot twist near the end that left me staring at my wall for ages after-- it was so good and unexpected. jude and cardan are such amazing, complex characters who i loved. this is a fabulous book that made me run to read the next one, seeing as the cliffhanger it left me on was almost too much to bear and i couldn't wait to see how it would be handled.
i gave it five out of five stars, and would most definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good read to get out of a reading slump (just make sure you've read the first book, the cruel prince, before this one, obviously!) this book is a lot better, and faster paced, than the first one, which is a good thing. all in all, i thoroughly enjoyed the wicked king, and was given everything i hoped for and more!
