I adore the world of The Wicked King. I have been anticipating this book for a year since The Cruel Prince came out. I am happy that I only have to wait until November for the next book. The plot is very interesting and follows on from the events of The Cruel Prince. The main characters Jude and Cardan are wicked and morally grey. There were a lot of other characters which brought a lot of conflict to the story. The magic system is great, immortality is questioned. The book ends on a mega cliffhanger which made me scream and want the next book right away. The writing style is very easy to follow with lyrical metaphorcial descriptions that builds up the world. The setting I loved. I connected with the story and I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys fantasy.
