This is the second book of the Folk of the Air series by Holly Black and i wasn't less impressed than i was of the first book. We continue following the story of Jude as she deals with the court and the crown. Compared to the first one the second book really focuses on that and the powerplay between the courts forces. But even though that seems to be the focus we still get to see a lot of Cardans and Judes relationship and their development in character is so entertaining to watch. It is not the usual romance you get while reading, as the female heroine in this book is absolutely mesmerizing and a role model because once she sets herself a goal that is what she sticks to. It is just so refreshing to have the two character be two poles and still be attracted to each other.
Overall the whole world created by Holly Black as always continues to amaze me, although I have to say what intrigues me most is how Cardan and Jude act and how that relationship will continue in the third book of the series!
