This book is a must for anyone who loves murder and betrayal and family drama that is taken to the next level, along with traitorous royalty. However, reading a Wicked King will make absolutely no sense if you have not read the previous book, the Cruel Prince.
Sometimes books in a series struggle after the first one if that one is such a hit, but this is not included in that. This book is amazing and definitely keeps up with the standard of the first one.
I love this book (and the trilogy as a whole) because it is set in a completely different world that can be found in no other book and as soon as you start reading, you are transported to that world. It fits perfectly into the Young Adult fantasy genre and is a must for those of you who wish to escape!
