Cardan has become the King unwillingly and Jude is right at his side calling the shots. The plot definitely keeps interesting here and character relationships. Cardan and Jude begin to develop a relationship and we get to see chemistry between other characters like Bomb and Roach. It dives deeper in Jude dynamic with Madoc and Vivi. It cool to see how Jude is both seen has the enemy by most of her family even though she betrayed them and teamed up with Cardan to save Oak. But, Madoc gets really complicated in this book his character is really confusing. Sometimes he really cares about his family, but then does all these crazy things just for the sake of fighting or starting a war. It's so hard to like his character and it feels like he's becoming a villian. Compared to Cardan who seemed like the Villian, but now is just misunderstood. Sometimes I wish we could get to see more of how Cardan thinks which would make his character arc stronger.
