This book has quickly become one of my favourite fantasy and magical books, of all time.
The plot is intriguing, with brilliant character developments and twists and turns around every corner. I found myself surprised at the plot regularly and shocked when certain characters planned things different to how I expected things to go.
The writing is unique and elegant, Holly Black manages to still include the elegant of surprise, despite the 1st person writing technique. I found there was an excellent balance of description and dialogue that made for an utterly captivating read.
I would recommend this book to anyone with a love for mischievous characters, a scheming plot, or an overall love for anything in the fantasy world.
