Enjoyable but not as outstanding as first book
The Wicked King is the sequel to The Cruel Prince which was one of my favorite books of last year. I really enjoyed The Wicked King but I don't think it was as outstanding for me as the first book. It was a little slow in places and there were not enough scenes between Jude and Cardan for my liking and too many scenes with minor characters which I didn't really know or care much for.
However the writing was as gorgeous as the previous book and the Faerie world and the Fae are described so beautifully. I also adore the character of Jude as she is quite an ambiguous character and you never know where you are with her. There are a lot of twists and turns toward the end and the ending itself is very unexpected. I look forward anxiously to the next book.
