Wow! Holly Black has done it again. I loved The Cruel Prince and I had high hopes for this sequel which were greatly exceeded. The dynamic between Jude and Cardin was just fire. I have to admit I did find certain aspects slow but the pay off is well worth it. I also thought some relationships were a little rushed, like Jude was a bit too quick to forgive certain people and that didn’t really fit in to her take no prisoners attitude.
So much more of the Faerie world was explained and explored. Seeing Jude with a whole new level of power and watching her exact revenge of those who deserved it was immensely satisfying. She’s just a total badass!
I must now begin the excruciating year long wait for book three which given that ENDING will be explosive.
