wow wee woo wow. honestly this sequel was stunning and i’m so happy i was able to read this (although i’ve been left absolutely mad for the ending). this book was never boring; i found at times in the cruel prince that it was slow paced, but throughout this book, it was so fast and had me gripped at all times.
The Plot: We pick up with Jude as the pupeteer, controlling Cardans way as king. Whilst doing so, she faces the inhabitants of elfame, who are dismissive of her role, her family, a new enemy and a betrayal. again, the plot was brilliant, i was enthralled at all times, and heartbroken. there are so many unpredictable twists. i can not find any flaws.
Characters: Black builds upon her characters and we see a vast development in Jude and Cardan’s relationship. i felt that in TCP there was lack of character development in some characters, but it all gets cleared up here.
The Writing style: Black has a great simplicity and depth to her writing. She is able to build a 3D dimensional world within the reader. The world and it’s contents has been so graciously done.
5/5 stars; honestly recommend 100% even if you were iffy about the first book.
