I love the whole Folk of the Air series, and "The Wicked King" is my personal favorite of the books.
The book picks up five months after the crowning ceremony events in "The Cruel Prince", and Jude has seven months and a day left to control Cardan.
Officially, she is his the king´s seneshall, but behind the scenes, she is pulling the strings of the court while trying to figure out how to keep her position after the seven months are up.
All the while, she has to be incredibly carefull as it seems there is a traitor at court...
What I liked about this book was how the relationship between Jude and Cardan slowly developes, and how there are unexpected twists in the story.
I also feel like the beautifull design choices of the books should be appreciated, as all of the covers are very aesthetically pleasing.
Also, in all three books there are very nice chapter headers, and the maps of Elfhame are also very nice!
