Goddamnit, and I thought I couldn’t fall anymore in love with this series and its characters. How does Holly do this?! I’m in excruciating agony because the next book isn’t out yet and the wait is absolutely killing me. When The Queen of Nothing comes out, I think I might just faint of excitement... But anyway, enough about how much I need the next book, THIS book is beyond fantastic. Sometimes, following a brilliant first book of a series, the quality of writing or plot sometimes takes a fall, or at least it doesn’t meet expectations after such an amazing start. I’m beyond happy to say that The Wicked King isn’t an example of that. It lives up to the first book and more. Black doesn’t fail to excite and thrill her readers, surprising them at every turn, and leaving them wanting more. 100/10
