Refreshing to meet a strong female character that isn’t cringey and we get to see her fantastic character development throughout the book which was so cool which was like watching her grow up!! Was quite fast paced which was brilliant as it didn’t drag on or anything and the trope of “finding your family” among people who are not related in anyway but choose to be together due to shared trauma, similar skill set etc... in the book is fantastic too along with female empowerment and some elements of sisterhood! Would definitely suggest you give it a read if you love fantasy books as it was actually brilliant and I haven’t read something like this in a long time!!! The aesthetic is very poison, swords, smoke thorns and magic! The romance element is also brilliant as I feel like the book is plot but with romance and definitely doesn’t overshadow!
