I’d been wanting to read the folk of the air trilogy for some months and when I finally got round to it I was a little disappointed, that was until I finished The Wicked King. The first book was too overhyped for me but I’m so glad I stuck with it because this book was a really enjoyable read for me, so much so I had to rate it four stars.
The writing style is easy, easy enough that I devoured this book in a few hours eager to head straight into the start of The Queen of Nothing. The beginning wasn’t the usual beginning of a book where it’s typically more on the slow side which made it all the more easy to read. Cardan’s character development in this made the book more enjoyable compared to reading about him in The Cruel Prince.
The book was a perfect mix of romance and action.
I would recommend this read for a person thirteen years plus.
