This sequel to The Cruel Prince is everything and more! I love it so much! It follows Jude as she has just crowned Cardan High King of Elfhame. Cardan has promised to stay under her rule for a year and a day. Cardan is merely acting as the king but Jude is controlling his every move.
Cardan and Jude's romance develops as they are enthralled in the parties and games of the royal court. Cardan begins to grow used to his position as the High King and even begins to enjoy his power. This poses as a problem for Jude.
i loved this book so much and I cannot recommend The Folk of The Air series enough! It is definitely my favorite series by far. Holly Black is an amazing author and writes the most amazing plots and does really great plot twists. Her characters are so easy to like. Jude is an amazing female lead. She is ambitious and cunning. I love her romance with Cardan and I think it is incredibly written.
