After reading the first book in this series, The Cruel Prince, I could not wait to read this one. I was immediately hooked after just the first chapter and could not stop reading it.
I loved how Jude treated the way she would act and even when Locke got in her way she would find out how to get back at him.
I was also intrigued with the relationship between Jude and Carden especially after her betraying his trust but Holly Black was able to rekindle their relationship without it damaging the storyline.
I loved the plot twists and turns in this book and what certain characters did or didn't do. It was also intriguing to see what characters would do for other and some of the betrayals that took place.
The ending was so unexpected but I loved it. It was amazing to see what Jude did and what everyone else thought about it. The plot twist was extremely unexpected and it was amazing to see the reactions.
