Set 5 months after the events of The Cruel Prince, Carden is on the throne but Jude is the real ruler of Faerie. Pulling the strings as the High King’s seneschal (advisor), she is desperately trying to protect Oak and keep control of Carden, whilst fighting her confusing feelings for him.
