This was even better than the first book in the series! I was constantly shocked by the plot and new information about the characters. The story was well paced and never left me bored. The characters, and their complex relationships, left me changing my opinions every ten minutes. Holly Black’s writing style is the perfect blend of descriptive and easy to understand. This was a book that made me frustrated and happy and ready to cry. The ending was absolutely superb and I can’t wait to read the next book. I was constantly surprised and awaiting the characters’ next moves. I especially love Jude and Madoc. Their characters and so beautifully complex and flawed yet still likeable. Overall, this was a book I literally could not put down and I recommend it highly.
