After what could only be described as one of the most shocking revelations in fantasy, Oak is actual the heir to Faerie. The story follows Jude the strong female protagonist who works hard to keep her brother and sister (Taryn) safe, even going as far as defying her deceptive, murderous father.
Holly Black has done it again, this sequel is everything I hoped it would be and more. Jude's flirtatious banter with Carden is one of the reasons that I as a reader stick around, she's hated and feared these fae creatures since her parents where murdered and now she walks the line of treasonous with her own emotions. Jude has molded herself into a dangerous woman in order to avenge her parents, and the decision to do this is a lethal one.
