This book is a hard one. I'm so torn up about how I feel about it on one hand, Holly Black is the queen when it comes to writing fae. She kills it every single time. However there are so many things I have issues with when it comes to the romance and familial relationships in both The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King. It just feels so very abusive and I cannot fathom how do many people are into it. Do they not see how so much of it is wrong? So many of the qualities of these relationships are toxic and the first things you should start getting alarm bells for in real-life relationships. Having said all that, the plot (romance pushed aside) was actually really fun. Jude grows so much in this book. And that plot twist at the end. Man, it can't end like that.
