One of my absolute all time favourite series! I adore this book and I think it easily surpasses the first book.
The characters feel far more fleshed out, and the relationship between Jude and Cardan, which is a very minor subplot in the first book, is finally given the attention it definitely deserves! Jude is such a morally complex protagonist (which I always love lol) and she takes matters into her own hands, as opposed to merely being a passive bystander to the events of the book. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of the conflict at the end of the book, it seems pretty trivial and is basically just one big misunderstanding which could have easily been resolved if they had spoken or she had thought a bit deeper. However, it was a great read and is a very strong sequel which beautifully sets up the final book (which is also incredible haha)
