This is an OK fantasy, I heard so many people being excited about it, but when I started reading it, I was not impressed. After "The Cruel Prince" I expected a lot more drama and character development, however the author remained on the same theme and followed the exact same recipe as per her first book, which for me was quite poor. I expected Jude`s relationship with Cardan to be more evolved than this, but he remained the same egotistical royalty who thinks is a know it all and deserving of everything good there is in the world without moving a finger. Not my choice of a main character. I know we are supposed to like a bad boy, but the main character for me is just cringy and very very difficult to like.
