Already I failed to get behind the hype of The Cruel Prince, I wasn't a fan of the writing style or the main characters. I thought I'd give the sequel a go because surely it can either get better or worse.
I just found myself bored mostly and struggling to read the book. I would pick it up to read and then close it and not want to. I had to push myself through the majority of it, that is to say all of it. It's the writing style I don't particularly like, and Jude's character as well, I don't find her likeable. Or Cardan.
The plot didn't help either, it failed to grip me in any way or excite me. It was just lacking in a lot of places and that might be an unpopular opinion but it's just how I felt reading this. Perhaps the last book will up its game and I'll try to give it a chance like I did this one.
