Loved this book, more than the first book. The world building and plot was incredible and love holly blacks writing. really like how the romance wasn’t the main focus and allowed for the political intrigue to be the dominant focus of the book allowing for other things to happens along side the main plot.
My favourite characters are Jude, Cardan and Vivi. Can not stand Madoc and Locke, Taryn just doesn’t sit right with me since she marries Locke.
I thought the ending was great and allows for speculation of what jude is going to do and makes a great segway into the third book.
My opinion on Cardan has definitely change from the first book, in the cruel prince he was mean and arrogant, in the wicked king he hasn’t changed a lot but his attitude towards jude has shifted and you can really see the relationship building and strengthening between the two.
