After reading the first book, The Cruel Prince, I had no interest in continuing the series. I had already purchased it before reading the first book thinking I would enjoy it. It sat on my to be read shelf for a long time until I saw that the series was blowing up on Tiktok saying that the series got better, I had to read it.
I literally read The Wicked King in less than three days. It was ten even one hundred times better than the first book. I could not put that book down, I stayed literally till four in the morning reading it. That is how much I enjoyed it.
This book had more to give than the first, more romance, character development and sacrifices from both Jude and Cardan.
This book was the starting point of my love for books with enemies to lovers. Cardan is soooooo hooooot. I even named one of my succulents after him. I 100% recommend reading this series.
