This book was slower than the first one but still amazing!! The slow burn in between Cardan and Jude is so intense and we’re not even out of it yet ;) the romance subplot is more present in this book than in the cruel prince but again, it is a subplot. Don’t await a full romance novel because it is a fantasy one!! Yet again Holly Black did an incredible job and I read this book so easily lmao. Jude is getting more power, Cardan is starting to fall more and more for her and she realizes that she may even care a little bit about him. There’s betrayal, there’s sword fights, there’s kissing and aching. ALL YOU WANT IS THERE!! Jude is so amazing I would thank her if she were to step on me ;) nah I ain’t joking if you’re a fantasy reader… you know what to do. Some people may Judge but I’m kinda for Cardans tail… like it’s so hot and it makes him different and when the tail wraps around Jude!?!?! URGH
