Spoilers ahead! First time reading this genre and the first book had me hooked. This is the 2nd in the series. I read the first book in 2 days. I found the first half of this book to be quite a slow burner but the second half made up for it all. The character development was great and the plot left you guessing, was very unpredictable.
The development of Cardan and Jude’s relationship was one that kept you wanting more. Would have liked there to be more than was given to be honest.
Cardan’s own character development was great, the twist at the end was unpredictable and showed that he was much smarter than we all perceived. Great amount of detail not too much not too little.
Wicked King gives, betrayal, attraction, fighting, hardship and conflict. I am looking forward to the next book and the following. Great series would recommend. Thanks holly black!
