I absolutely adored the first book of this series, The Cruel Prince, so naturally I decided to borrow this one from the library and read it too. What I did not expect was that I would end up buying this book because I loved it so much! I have read this entire series about 10 times now lol, but this one was by far my favourite. Whether it be the introduction to new landscapes being described with such gorgeous detail, character development that made your heart flutter, romance that had your toes curling and sitting on the edge of your seat with anticipation, or the plot twists that had you staring into nothingness for a solid 10 minutes trying to figure out how you NEVER saw that coming, this book will take you on an emotional rollercoaster that will have you screaming for so many different reasons by the end. I can honestly say, as someone who always sees the ending coming, I never would have guessed the ending to this book. Bravo, Holly Black!
