This book was the best one in the series. It had a lot of action and I couldn't wait to read the third book when I saw the ending.

This was my favorite book of the year by far. The Wicked King was impossible to put down. It was excellent, a real page-turner. Each scene leads toward a larger goal, but the ending left some questions unanswered. The Wicked King seems to be set up for a sequel and didn't resolve the current plot.

Some characters were two-dimensional, generic, and forgettable. I struggled to relate to them or care what happened to them, but they didn't get in the way of the story. I found it hard to put The Wicked King down. It was fast-paced, engaging, and suspenseful; a joy to read.

The world-building was robust but didn't utilize the character's senses or mood making the setting hard to visualize. Action scenes could have been written better. The world-building was superb and each scene was easy to visualize based on the character's senses and mood. Action scenes were vividly presented and easy to follow.

The text was well written and engaging. The writing style was consistent and the exposition didn't slow the plot overly much. There were a few typographical and grammar errors, but not enough to take me out of the moment. Great cover design and page layout.
