I started reading this right after I finished the first book in the series, and I was astonished. Having already built a wonderful magical world in the first book, Black continues to bring it to life even more. With the drama of the previous instalment carrying over, it brought with a feeling of desperation with it, as the reader gets to feel the main character's emotions so clearly. I was honestly wondering how she hadn't gone mad at times, with what she met. I think I screamed a couple of times as well.
The drama and plot thicken as the main couple continue to deny their feelings to both themselves and the other.

The plot is just as twisty as the first book, if not with even more deception and misleading. All the characters betray and attempt to kill each other, which is certainly enough to up the tension even further, with the final twist just a glove slap to the readers face. I loved it!
