This sequel out did my expectations! I liked the first book (gave it four stars) but this book was, in my opinion, so so so much better. The characters, the world building and the plot all got me hooked and wanting more.
Jude and Cardan are both definitely in my top favourite book characters - I loved their dynamic and relationship and honestly neither annoyed me (which is rare for me when reading ya fantasy). I became so attached to this world that I ran straight to book three and the novella to read as much about Elfhame as I could.
I thought the ending of this book was done perfectly, as frustrating as it may have been, but set up book three so well. This series is definitely in my top recommendations to my friends and those who love fantasy.
It definitely left me in a book coma after I finished it!
I don't know what Holly Black put in this book but it was so addicting! 5 stars for sure!!
