I bloody loved this book, it was a perfect books for the middle of a series. I did not fail to impress me the amount of plot twist that was added. I loved the dynamic between Cardan and Jude, watching the struggle between power and watching them slowly fall for each other, this is definitely a slow burn romance but it is worth the slow burn. The anticipation whilst reading to find out what happens after the year and a day was up was amazing. I love getting to know the characters, every characters is written beautifully, even the smaller characters like oak, made so you fall in love with them. The way that each plot point fit perfectly with the storyline, i could not find any questions unanswered and this made me want to read more books by Holly Black.
The book was amazing and i cannot wait to read what the 3rd book has in store for Cardan and Jude. This 3 book series is soo good it might even convince me to get the copies in hardback too!
