I was not a fan of The Cruel Prince. Yet, still intrigued enough to want to continue and this was definitely an improvement. The characters were even more flawed, ruthless and violent. I thoroughly enjoyed the chapters taking place under the sea and really hope we will go back there in the final instalment. Cardan and Jude? Well, they still love/hate each other - nothing new there. But the plethora of side characters and mini subplots more than make up for the mediocre and quite unhealthy romance. The ending that left everyone unravelled, was predictable and a bit meh. Still, I enjoyed the book immensely and am looking forward to the finale in November- a perfect excuse to treat myself for birthday!
