I hate writing negative reviews so I will try and keep it on the positive, this book just wasn't for me. I was excited to read as it has been so hyped up but the story left me feeling flat. The characters weren't particularly likable, the romance was toxic and you just couldn't route for it and the story for me lacked that page turning element that I love when reading a book.
I felt my mind keep drifting off when reading it which isn't a good sign. Who knows maybe I have outgrown this genre as I felt the same towards lots of YA fantasy as of late. I don't think I will read the next on by Holly Black I tried with cruel price and now this but like I said just wasn't for me. I am sure the younger readers will enjoy it as the writing style is more aimed at the younger reader.
