Honestly, I am a little disappointed with the hype surrounding these books. I find the writing style for both The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King slow and too flowered up so it just doesn't captivate me at all.
I do not like Jude. There - I said it. I think she makes poor decisions and doesn't own them properly at all. She's selfish, dull and the 'relationship' between her and Carden is romanticised abuse! WHY IS IT SO POPULAR?
This book may only be 30 chapters long, but 29 chapters were dull, the final chapter was the ONLY chapter with any excitement or any substance but I do absolutely hate a cliff-hanger. Will I carry on reading the series, probably - but that's only because of the powerful last chapter. I truly wish the entire book was as strong as the last chapter. Then it really would be worth the hype!
