I read The Cruel Prince early last year and while I really enjoyed it, I didn't quite love it but I am beyond glad to have picked up an early copy of The Wicked King and this book absolutely blew The Cruel Prince out of the water!
For some strange reason I was under the impression that The Wicked King was the final book of a duology but reading the spectacular cliffhanger ending of this book has me counting down the days until the actually finale of the trilogy, Queen of Nothing!
This book felt a lot more grown up than its predecessor. It focused more on court politics and deception than school children and bullies. It also set up the last book in the trilogy magnificently well.
I'm definitely excited to read the conclusion to this series!
