Wow - Wicked King
I’ve fallen in love with the way Jude and Cardan are falling in love. It’s definitely not your typical love story.
Lies and deception are common-place in the land of the Faerie and it’s no different for Jude. A mortal brought up in the world of mythical creatures.
We’re all so used to the way a bad boy meets a good girl and he becomes good, albeit only for her, that this series is shocking me at every turn. Not only is Cardan a bad boy, he’s shocking and horrible and, well, cruel! And Jude who we think is a sweet good girl who bad things happen to (damsel in distress vibes?) when it turns out, she’s just as sly and scheme-y as the rest of them. These two are literally the perfect pair!
They both hate each other and can’t resist each other at the same time. It puts a whole new meaning to the love/hate relationship. It gives love stories a new spin to them. I mean it’s a breathe of fresh to the normal stereotypes of love stories - not that I’m ever going to stop wanting to read about bad boys falling in love.
