This is a book that grips you from the beginning and keeps pulling you back for more. The characters come to life on the page, some innocently naive while others leave a bad taste in the mouth. As the story unfolds the characters deepen until, by the end, everything I thought I knew about them had been flipped upside down and inside out. Each of the characters has a unique place in the story and brings their own strength to the book as a whole.

The timeline is dissected at crucial moments, bringing the perspectives of the different main players together in real time. The author does a brilliant job of showing 'how the other half lives' and digging down into the motivations of money, love and status. This is a book that makes the reader angry and that, in my opinion, is the mark of a great writer.

I really enjoyed this book and its twists and turns.
