I liked this. I really am a sucker for alternative histories and new slants on old characters. Of course alternative histories are not usually about people who are living but it is clear that this tale is to be told with affection. We know so little about the Queen and this provides a great opportunity for speculation - although as the author points out-she has no reason to suppose that the Queen does solve murder mysteries! I like the fact that we are getting this from the Queen’s point of view. Her staff treat her as someone to be protected from reality when it’s clear that she is going to be Miss Marple incarnate. More please.
