I fell in love with the synopsis of this book and it really didn't disappoint.
Imagine that the Queen has been leading a secret double life as an armchair detective. Over the years she's employed a "right hand woman" to do some of the legwork for her - after all Her Majesty can't exactly get out and about to solve crimes!
However a matter is literally brought to her doorstep when a talented young, Russian, musician is found dead at Windsor Castle. Staged to look like a suicide, it doesn't take long to realise that foul play is afoot. With her new assistant, Rozie, by her side the Queen is determined to solve the mystery and nudge the detectives in the right direction.
This is a crime mystery with shades of Miss Marple about it but it is also really humorous. The Queen behaves just how I imagine she would in real life and there's a real sense of affection towards her throughout the book.
I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!
