This is the first book in a crime series that follows Queen Elizabeth II as she secretly solves crimes with the help of her secretary Rozie. The idea behind this murder-mystery is atypical yet brilliant, something I'd never read before and it works perfectly.

With each chapter we weave throughout the narrative, starting off slow when we learn of the mysterious death of a Russian pianist, Maksim Brodsky. Before the story begins to build up towards a more paced mystery in which Queen Elizabeth II knows that the police are looking in the wrong place for the murderer.

In terms of the writing, it was good, adding gentle humour easily in its narrative, and I thought the characters created by S.J. Bennett were great, and easy to visualise throughout.

Overall, I found myself unable to put the book down and finished this book in just 2 sittings. Loved the book and can say its a solid first book in a series, one which I will likely be retuning for the next instalment.
