It's a challenge imagining exactly what Queen Elizabeth II does when she is not on display and fulfilling her royal functions. Does she slouch on the sofa binge watching TV? Does she have a secret hobby? In Bennett's book we get a glimpse of what if the Queen had a passion for detective work, and what if there was a death in the castle that needed to be investigated.

This was a quirky book. The premise is a lot of fun, the image of the Queen secretly interested in detective work is an enjoyable idea and the character of Rozie was great to follow. It's not a book that I would reread, there aren't many surprises, there is a lot left unexplored and the focus is a lot more on the capability of Rozie and others who work in the royal household. But it was an easy and enjoyable read, and the synopsis gives a good impression of what the book is so I would recommend it for people who think it looks like a fun idea!
