Fun!
This was fun.
After a ‘Dine and Sleep’ at Windsor Castle, a talented pianist is found dead in suspicious circumstances. With security services blaming the staff and/or Russia, the Queen (everso discreetly) takes matters into her own hands, roping in ‘new girl’ Assistant Private Secretary Rozie Oshodi to help investigate.
This really was as fun as I wanted it to be. I loved the Queen’s voice, ‘hearing’ her private thoughts and discussions with Philip. Rozie is a great character, a young, proactive and highly capable black woman who is finding her feet in her new role, learning more about her employer and the two of them manoeuvring around the men-that-know-best. The whodunnit was almost secondary (I’ll be honest, I didn’t always follow the plot there!) - but I’ll happily pick up the next in the series.
